Coccydynia

Coccydynia refers to pain or tenderness due to inflammation at the tip of the coccyx, also known as the tailbone.

Whether this sensitive condition is caused by extended periods of sitting, trauma, childbirth or an unidentified problem, common symptoms include painful bowel movements and sexual intercourse, radiating leg pain or an aching in this area that is exacerbated by sitting. Steroid injections, nerve blocks and other pain management techniques often provide relief.
